These are some of my thoughts about teaching, online and in the classroom, and about my various digital projects.

Students Love Blackboard
Informal polling of those students using Blackboard at our college reveals that almost 50% of those students "love" Blackboard. Maybe BB 10.1 will be better.
I am constantly amazed at how I am able to find new ways that Blackboard works that can irritate me. I think that I have already mentioned somewhere how you have to change one student properties after another through a bunch of screens. Now, I've also discovered that since Blackboard is now synched with our student records system, I cannot set a student's status to guest, because Blackboard, on its own initiative, determines, that cannot be true and that a student must be a student and not a guest. I like to use the guest function so that students don't appear in the gradebook once they have withdrawn from the course. Scrolling through 50, 60 or 75 students in the gradebook is not fun, and if I can reduce that number--then good. But BB won't allow that.
